Where would we be without books?

I love reading. Reading has been at times my escape, my companion, my teacher and my seducer (did you read Fifty Shades of Grey?!  That is all.)  However, I was raised by a mother who adores to read and a father who openly hates school and hates to read. Ironically my mother (the parent that loves reading) grew up with severe dyslexia. She taught me to never give up and to always go after your dreams.

If my father had his way he would never have to read anything. He does, every now and then, but only to learn something about hiking or camping.

So I started thinking today where would I be without my books?

The Giving Tree taught me to care for nature and reminded me how selfish man can be. Wuthering Heights gave m a lesson in Family Trees and is my go-to book for love, romance, passion and drama. It brings me peace to read Shakespeare or Thoreau. I can’t imagine a world without books. I can’t imagine a world  without writing them either.

Where would you be?
